The influence of Variable Geometry Control on a R290 Ejector Refrigeration System

چکیده

Abstract The large-scale deployment of ejector refrigeration systems (i.e., solar-based systems), although representing a promising alternative compared with mechanical compressor ones, is hindered due to limitations regarding control modes. Indeed, ejectors are fluid-dynamics controlled devices and, because their fixed geometry, they operate at highest efficiency in narrow range operating conditions, which contrast the dynamic pressure and temperature levels characterizing real applications. In this context, variable geometry ( VGE ) represent solution increase flexibility operation component. present study aims extend body knowledge systems, evaluating impact spindle-provided operated R290 on performance system. analysis has been carried out using an integrated lumped parameter/ CFD approach, thus linking local flow properties global performances. Different spindle positions have tested assess how different nozzle area ratios affect both entrainment ratio critical pressure. Results showed that increasing primary system can effectively reduce thermal input, average COP expanse lower conclusion, moving might ensure improvement performance.
